Dylan Larkin Provides Only Offense for Detroit in Loss
5 years agoDetroit Red Wings forward Dylan Larkin scored a pair of goals Sunday night as the Red Wings fell 4-2 to the Flames. Detroit's lone bright spot in the game Larkin also recorded three shots on net and led all Detroit forwards with 21:57 minutes of ice time. Now with 17 goals and 45 points on the season, including five points in his last three games, Larkin seems to have shaken off his struggles from earlier in the season. He still is falling below his production from last year (73 points in 76 games), but Larkin will continue to be given every opportunity available on a Red Wings team with little else in the way of scoring options. While teammate Anthony Mantha's return to the lineup has boosted Larkin's production, Monday's trade deadline could see some talent leave Detroit in the name of rebuilding.
