Dylan Larkin Extends Streak to Six Games in Loss
5 years agoDetroit Red Wings forward Dylan Larkin picked up his 19th assist of the season on a goal from Madison Bowey during Sunday's 5-1 loss to the Sabres. Larkin now has points in six consecutive games and eight points across his last eight games, marking his most productive stretch since the first games of the season. With over 40 assists in each of the last two seasons, Larkin is on pace for 33 assists, which is not doing much to make up for his below-average 7.7 percent shooting percentage this season. He is still generating a solid amount of shots, 3.1 shots per game, so while the talent around him in Detroit is not likely to improve this season, he could be due for some positive regression in terms of goal scoring. Another 20-goal campaign is not out of reach for Larkin, but he will need to get back on track soon, and this hot streak could be just the jump start he needs.
