4 months agoThe Chicago White Sox placed starting pitcher Dylan Covey (shoulder) on the 10-day injured list with right shoulder inflammation on Sunday and recalled reliever Thyago Vieira from Triple-A Charlotte in a corresponding move. The injured list move is retroactive to June 6. The 27-year-old Covey is 1-4 on the year with a 4.58 ERA in nine games (seven starts) in 2019. Nothing alarming showed up in Covey's MRI exam, so the hope is he won't need to miss too much time. He hasn't really been of much use to those in mixed leagues, but Covey is an AL-only commodity when healthy. The White Sox have shot down speculation that top prospect Dylan Cease will come up to take Covey's spot in the rotation.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBaller
