Dylan Carlson Won't Throw Until Monday
2 years agoSt. Louis Cardinals manager Oliver Marmol said that outfielder Dylan Carlson (arm) is on a "no-throw" plan until at least Monday after injuring his arm in a Grapefruit League game on Thursday. Carlson can continue to hit, but the Cardinals want to rest his arm through the weekend. This doesn't appear to be a very serious injury, so Carlson shouldn't be in danger of missing Opening Day. Many folks were predicting a breakout campaign for Carlson in 2022, but it just didn't come to pass while he dealt with injuries and inconsistency. He finished with a .236/.316/.380 slash line, .695 OPS, eight home runs, 42 RBI, 56 runs scored and five stolen bases in 128 games. The 24-year-old will need to do better against left-handers if he wants to take the next step.
