Drew Lock Upsets Eagles On Monday Night Football
12 months agoQuarterback Drew Lock was tabbed for his second consecutive start after it was determined in pregame warmups that Geno Smith (groin) was better off sitting for another week. Lock went 22-for-33 for 203 passing yards in what was an underwhelming effort until Seattle's final drive of Seattle's eventual 20-17 victory over the Philadelphia Eagles. With just under two minutes left on the clock in the fourth quarter, Lock led the Seahawks 92 yards downfield and threw a 29-yard touchdown pass to Jaxon Smith-Njigba with 28 seconds left on the clock. While it was an impressive finish, Lock looked gunshy for most of the night, sticking to short and intermediate routes and completing only three passes that went for more than eight yards before the fourth quarter. Even with the late-game heroics, the starter job is expected to go back to Smith once he is fully healed, which may be as soon as Week 16's contest against the Tennessee Titans.
