Doug Pederson Expects To Return In 2021
4 years agoPhiladelphia Eagles head coach Doug Pederson doesn't think his job is in jeopardy and "fully expects" to return as the head coach next season despite losing to the division-rival Cowboys in Week 16 to eliminate the team from postseason contention. As Pederson pointed out, the Eagles have won a championship and have made the playoffs in three of the five seasons that he's been in charge. Philly enters a Week 17 matchup with Washington with a 4-10-1 record. Rookie quarterback Jalen Hurts will remain the starting QB in the regular season finale. Hurts has started the last three games since taking over in Week 13 for Carson Wentz. The rookie had his worst outing so far against Dallas, committing three turnovers, but he's thrown five touchdowns and two picks to go with 847 yards and a rushing score in his three games. The 22-year-old will be a QB2 with upside against Washington to close out the year.
