Don't Rule Out Cornerback For Raiders At No. 7
2 years agoLas Vegas Raiders general manager Dave Ziegler and head coach Josh McDaniels said at the owners' meetings that they will select the best player available at No. 7 overall in the first round of next week's draft, regardless of position. They have hosted several players on top-30 visits recently, including all of the top quarterback prospects. They could take a QB, but all of the top guys at the position could be gone by their pick. ESPN's Jordan Reid has been told not to rule out a cornerback at No. 7 by someone with knowledge of the team's strategy. The Raiders have checked in on the top three corners in this class -- Illinois' Devon Witherspoon, Oregon's Christian Gonzalez and Penn State's Joey Porter Jr.
