Dolphins Exercise Tua Tagovailoa's Fifth-Year Option
2 years agoThe Miami Dolphins announced on Monday that they have officially exercised quarterback Tua Tagovailoa's fifth-year option. The move will guarantee him $23.2 million in 2024. It shouldn't come as much of a surprise, though, as the organization has continued to say that Tagovailoa remains in their long-term plans despite the fact that he suffered two documented concussions in 2022. When he was on the field, the 25-year-old had the best season of his young career in head coach Mike McDaniel's offense, completing 64.8 percent of his passes for a career-high 3,548 yards, 25 touchdowns and eight interceptions in 13 starts. With receivers Tyreek Hill and Jaylen Waddle at his disposal, Tagovailoa should be considered an injury-prone, low-end QB1 by fantasy managers.
