Dodgers Nearing One-Year Deal With Clayton Kershaw
2 years agoThe Los Angeles Dodgers and starting pitcher Clayton Kershaw are nearing a one-year deal, according to a source. It comes after the team declined to give Kershaw the $19.65 million qualifying offer. The 34-year-old will return to the Dodgers for a 16th season in 2023. The future Hall of Fame left-hander went 12-3 with a strong 2.28 ERA (2.57 FIP), a 0.94 WHIP, 137 strikeouts and only 23 walks in 126 1/3 innings over his 22 starts. Injuries have been an issue for the nine-time All-Star in recent years and he hasn't topped 200 innings in a single season since 2015, but Kershaw has still been very solid for the Dodgers and fantasy managers when he's been healthy.
