DK Metcalf Remains Geno Smith's Go-To Target
1 year agoThe Athletic's Michael-Shawn Dugar writes that Seattle Seahawks wide receiver DK Metcalf remains quarterback Geno Smith's go-to target after Metcalf accounted for 25.5 percent of Seattle's targets last year. The fifth-year wideout started his career as mostly an outside receiver, but he's evolved into a player who can stress defenses from the slot as well. Smith and Metcalf weren't all that efficient in 2022, but Dugar believes that should change in 2023. The 25-year-old is one of the NFL's best all-around receivers and has 900-plus receiving yards in each of his first four seasons in the league. The addition of rookie first-rounder Jaxon Smith-Njigba could take some valuable targets away from Metcalf this year, but he remains a strong WR2 target with game-changing abilities in Seattle.
