Dennard Wilson Could Replace Mike Macdonald In Baltimore
11 months agoBaltimore Ravens defensive coordinator Mike MacDonald is leaving to become the new head coach of the Seattle Seahawks, and defensive backs coach Dennard Wilson is an early favorite to replace him in Baltimore, according to ESPN's Adam Schefter. Baltimore boasted the No. 1 defensive DVOA, allowed the fewest points per game (16.5), and had the most sacks (60) during the regular season, leading to MacDonald's emergence as a head-coaching candidate. However, Wilson has done great things with the Ravens' and Eagles' defensive backs over the last two seasons, and he's drawn interest from other organizations for their defensive-coordinator roles. Wilson seems like the obvious choice to take over Baltimore's defensive unit, and this is a situation worth monitoring.
