Free-agent center DeMarcus Cousins (knee) has engaged in contract discussions with the Los Angeles Lakers and Miami Heat. It appears Cousins has fully recovered from his left ACL injury. He was not close to playing in February, but he might be ready to play by the end of July. The Heat currently have a full roster and would need to cut someone in order to sign Cousins. The Lakers signed Cousins in July of 2019 but decided to part ways with him in February. It's unclear how close either team is to signing Cousins at the moment.--Andy Webb
