David Savard will call the Montreal Canadiens home for the next four seasons. The veteran defenseman signed a deal on Wednesday that will pay him $3.5 million AAV. Though this contract offers no-trade protection, the deal gives Savard a $500,000 bonus for the final year. The middle years pay Savard $4.2 million while the first and last year may him $2.8 million each. While the defender may not shoot the puck on the net quite as he did in his early years, Savard still has some fantasy relevance. The defenseman regularly breaks 100 hits and 100 blocked shots a season which makes him a decent add in rotisserie leagues. Could Savard chip in 15 points or so with Montreal? That is entirely possible as well. --Chris Wassel - RotoBaller
