David Robertson Will Help In Holds Leagues
7 years agoBeginning 2017 as the closer of the Chicago White Sox, veteran reliever David Robertson wound up reaching the seventh game of the ALCS, but for his old ball club, the New York Yankees. The 32-year-old was traded back to the Bronx alongside Todd Frazier before the trade deadline, providing an added boost as the Yankees made a deep playoff run. Unfortunately for fantasy users, this killed most of his value, as he was no longer racking up saves. There were still positives, however, as he managed a 12.91 K/9, his highest in three seasons. He also lowered his HR/9, especially after landing in the Bronx, a very positive note considering how Yankee Stadium plays. Finally, his 89.4 LOB% was monstrous, and an even more astonishing 95% after returning to New York. Of course, even with all these positive notes, Robertson is in a bad position fantasy-wise, as he sits behind Aroldis Chapman in the fight for saves. While not rendering him useless, this causes significant harm to any value he holds in fantasy baseball.
