David Peterson Leaves With Trainer Wednesday
3 years agoNew York Mets starting pitcher David Peterson left his start on Wednesday against the Atlanta Braves with head athletic trainer Brian Chicklo in the fourth inning and appeared to be favoring his side. Peterson might've been coming out of the game soon anyway, though, after he allowed six of his final seven batters to reach safely. The left-hander allowed five runs in his three innings of work before exiting the game. Peterson, 25, entered the game with a 4.95 ERA, 1.31 WHIP and 67/28 K/BB in 14 starts over 63 2/3 innings, so he hasn't been very reliable for fantasy managers in mixed leagues. Check back later for more updates on the exact nature of Peterson's injury, but this could be another blow to an already thin Mets starting rotation.
