David Montgomery Ready For Expanded Role
5 years agoChicago Bears running back David Montgomery is hoping to see more than seven touches when the team travels to Denver to take on the Broncos in Week 2. Montgomery saw only six carries out of the backfield in the first half and then disappeared from the game plan. The Bears offense ran the ball only 15 times in a Week 1 loss to the Packers compared to 45 passing attempts. Expect more balance in Week 2 against Denver, which should bump up the rookies' involvement in the running game. It was a very small sample size but is clear that Montgomery possesses more talent and elusiveness than incumbent starter Mike Davis. The entire Bears offense will be a dicey fantasy play in Week 2.
