David Dahl A Strong Possibility To Lead Off
5 years agoColorado Rockies outfielder David Dahl is being considered for the leadoff spot this season, according to manager Bud Black. The growth of analytics has changed how leadoff hitters look over the last couple years, so Dahl could fit well in the role even though he's only got a career OBP of .346. If he does stick in the role, this would negatively impact his RBI numbers in exchange for runs, but the real question will be whether it alters his approach at the plate in any way. Either way, Dahl's biggest issue is health. If he can stay healthy for a full season, he could be a stud player. Unfortunately, Dahl hasn't topped 400 at-bats in a season since 2016.
