Darren O'Day Rebounds in Second Rehab Appearance
7 years agoBaltimore Orioles reliever Darren O'Day (elbow) bounced back strongly for Single-A Frederick. In his second appearance rehabbing his hyperextended elbow, O'Day struck out the side without allowing a baserunner. The outing is very encouraging for the former All-Star, as he allowed three earned runs in his only other outing for Frederick. O'Day should be back up and pitching in high-leverage situations for the Orioles within the week. He could even see some save chances alongside Brad Brach initially, but normal closer Zach Britton (Achilles) is also due back around mid-June, limiting O'Day's long-term upside.
