Darrell Henderson Jr. Trying Out With Chiefs
1 year agoFree-agent running back Darrell Henderson Jr. is one of a few players trying out for the Kansas City Chiefs during mandatory minicamp this week. Henderson also worked out for the Arizona Cardinals last December after he was cut by the Los Angeles Rams and Jacksonville Jaguars. The 25-year-old played in 10 games (seven starts) for the Rams in 2022, carrying the ball 70 times for 283 yards and three touchdowns while adding 17 receptions for an extra 102 yards. If Henderson impresses the Chiefs enough to land a contract, he'd be competing for a depth role in their backfield in training camp behind Isiah Pacheco, Jerick McKinnon and Clyde Edwards-Helaire. The former third-round pick of the Rams in 2019 has averaged 4.4 yards per carry on 396 rushing attempts in his four NFL seasons.
