Darnell Mooney Done For The Season
2 years agoChicago Bears wide receiver Darnell Mooney (ankle) will miss the rest of the season and is likely headed to Injured Reserve. Mooney suffered a serious ankle injury that will require surgery in the Week 12 loss to the New York Jets. "It's unfortunate," head coach Matt Eberflus said. The 25-year-old will finish his third year in the NFL with 40 receptions on 61 targets for 493 yards and two touchdowns in 12 games played. He was a bit of a disappointment for fantasy managers after finishing 2021 with career-highs in catches (81), targets (140) and receiving yards (1,055) while scoring four times in 17 games. With Mooney out the rest of the season, Chase Claypool, Equanimeous St. Brown, Dante Pettis and rookie Velus Jones Jr. will have more opportunities in the passing attack in Chicago.
