Darius Vines Making Second Career Start Versus Cubs
1 year agoAtlanta Braves rookie right-hander Darius Vines will make his second career MLB start on Wednesday against the visiting Chicago Cubs. Vines has made four appearances at the big-league level this year and has given up seven earned runs on 11 hits (one homer) while walking five and striking out nine in 14 1/3 innings. The 25-year-old made his major-league debut on Aug. 30 in a start in Colorado against the Rockies and gave up two earned runs while striking out five in six innings pitched to pick up his first career victory. He's given up at least one run in all four of his outings so far and surrendered three earned runs in 3 1/3 innings of relief in his last appearance against the Washington Nationals on Sept. 22. Vines isn't a recommended fantasy streamer against a Cubs team fighting for the last wild-card spot in the National League.
