Darius Slayton Has A Rough Spring
3 years agoNew York Giants wide receiver Darius Slayton had a rough spring and dropped a bunch of passes in the practices open to the media. He also wasn't getting much work with the first-string offense, although head coach Brian Daboll downplayed the importance of starting units in the spring. It was especially disappointing with Kenny Golladay and Kadarius Toney sitting out due to injuries from last season. It's entirely possible that Slayton could be traded or released before training camp and the preseason. He's entering the final year of his rookie contract, and cutting him would free up $2.5 million in salary cap space with just $58,000 in dead money attached. The presence of second-round rookie Wan'Dale Robinson doesn't help Slayton's cause either.
