Darius Slay Clears Concussion Protocol, Will Play Sunday
3 years agoPhiladelphia Eagles cornerback Darius Slay has cleared the league's concussion protocol, according to head coach Nick Sirianni. As a result, Slay will play on Sunday against the division-rival New York Giants in Week 12 action. Slay has scored touchdowns in back-to-back weeks with a fumble returned for a touchdown in Week 10 and an interception returned for another score last Sunday before he suffered a concussion. The veteran defensive back now has three touchdowns on the season and 39 total tackles. His return is good news for a defense that is trending up in recent weeks, and they'll be a strong play this Sunday against the Giants, who are expected to be without wide receivers Kadarius Toney (quadriceps) and Sterling Shephard (quadriceps). Expect Slay to match up with Giants receiver Kenny Golladay on the outside.
