Dansby Swanson Not Playing Wednesday
2 years agoChicago Cubs shortstop Dansby Swanson (side) is not in the starting lineup on Wednesday against the Seattle Mariners. Swanson was pulled early from Tuesday's game after experiencing cramping in his left side. The good news is it doesn't sound serious, and the 29-year-old had four singles in the first five innings before departing prematurely on Tuesday. The Cubs have Thursday off, so fantasy managers should expect Swanson to be back in the lineup on Friday to begin a series against the Los Angeles Angels. Swanson is killing it so far in his first 10 games for the Cubs, going 16-for-40 (.400) with two doubles, five RBI and a stolen base. Nico Hoerner is starting at the 6 and leadoff off on Wednesday, while Nick Madrigal is at second base and batting second against Mariners right-hander Logan Gilbert.
