Danny Jansen Not Ready To Return
Danny Jansen (hand) is out of action on Friday as the team takes on the visiting Chicago Cubs. Jansen was hit in the hand by a pitch on Thursday against the Cleveland Guardians and had to leave the contest early, but he's considered day-to-day after X-rays came back negative. The 28-year-old backstop was officially diagnosed with a right-hand contusion, so he'll have a chance to return as early as Saturday. Alejandro Kirk will do the catching on Friday and bat eighth against Cubs right-hander Javier Assad. Jansen provides fantasy managers with more power (15 home runs, 49 RBI) than Kirk, but he's batting just .218 (52-for-239) with a weak .289 on-base percentage on the year.
