Danny Duffy To Throw Simulated Game

Kansas City Royals starting pitcher Danny Duffy will throw a simulated game in Baltimore on Tuesday to test his injured hamstring. Duffy has been sidelined since the first week of August with the injury, but the team is taking its time with his return since they don't have much to play for this year. Duffy was once the shining star of their rotation, but he's struggled for the second-straight season, currently carrying an ERA of 4.93 through 18 starts this year. He still has some decent stuff and can jump up and surprise teams once in a while, but it's pretty rare now. The team will reassess his progress after the simulated game and likely send him on a rehab assignment soon.
