Columbus Blue Jackets goaltender Daniil Tarasov unexpectedly started on Thursday night against the Dallas Stars. This was because both Elvis Merzlikins and Joonas Korpisalo were too ill to play. Tarasov held his own against a Dallas onslaught that featured 37 shots on goal in all. He did allow two goals in 49 seconds to the Stars on Thursday in the 3-2 loss. However, Tarasov kept Columbus in the game during the third period stopping several point-blank chances. Did the goaltender earn some more playing time down the road?
