D’Andre Swift 2023 Outlook: Will he get the High-Value Touches in Philly?
2 years agoD'Andre Swift finds himself on a new team after seeing a career-low snap share (41.8%) a season ago with the Lions. Howie Roseman and the Eagles "swiftly" traded for the Philadelphia native after the Lions made it clear that Swift wasn't in their plans after drafting Jahmyr Gibbs 12th overall. Despite playing just 41.8% of the snaps, he still finished as a top-15 RB in PPR in 2022. Swift's prowess in the passing game is what makes him such a valuable fantasy asset. However, he goes from Jared Goff, who targeted RBs 115 times a season ago, to Jalen Hurts, who targeted his RBs just 61 times a season ago. That's a big difference, and that could really hinder Swift in Philadelphia. Add that to the fact he'll be competing for touches with both Rashaad Penny and Kenneth Gainwell, as well as Hurts. Swift may very well have the highest upside of any back in the Eagles backfield, but temper expectations. If he can stay healthy and the Eagles decide to throw to the RBs more often, Swift could definitely surprise some people this season.
