1 year agoHouston Texans running back Dameon Pierce took over as the team's featured back in Week 2 in his rookie season last year and never looked back, finishing with 939 rushing yards and four touchdowns. However, the addition of Devin Singletary, who had 819 yards and five touchdowns for the Buffalo Bills in 2022, could mean a lighter workload for Pierce. He should still start, but The Athletic's Mike Jones writes that it appears as if the Texans plan on going with a platoon backfield with Pierce and Singletary. Jones doesn't think it would be wise to rely on Pierce as your RB1 in fantasy football, but he makes for a strong No. 2.
