4 years agoThe San Francisco Giants placed catcher Curt Casali (wrist) on the 10-day injured list on Wednesday with a wrist strain. In corresponding moves, right-handed pitcher Dominic Leone and catcher Chadwick Tromp were added to the big league roster, while relief pitcher Nick Tropeano was optioned to the minor leagues. Casali, 32, is hitting a putrid .104/.250/.119 with no home runs and six RBI in 80 plate appearances this year and was obviously not worth rostering in any fantasy formats as a defense-first catcher. Tromp will now serve as Buster Posey's backup behind the dish for the Gigantes. In 24 games as a rookie in 2020, Tromp hit .213/.219/.426 with four home runs and 10 RBI in 64 plate appearances.
