7 months agoThe Chicago Cubs traded catcher Martin Maldonado to the Houston Astros on Wednesday in exchange for second baseman/outfielder Tony Kemp. The fantasy ramifications of this trade are minor. Maldonado was not fantasy relevant before or after the deal. Kemp could see somewhat more time with the Cubs than he did with the Astros, who had recently DFA'ed him, given Chicago's rather weak second base situation. However, the .240/.322/.376 career hitter (who is also 16-for-23 stealing bases, including 4-for-7 this season) doesn't offer much at the moment.--Nate Green - RotoBaller
