Cubs Telling Teams They Won't Trade Cody Bellinger
1 year agoThe Chicago Cubs are telling teams that outfielder Cody Bellinger won't be traded by Tuesday's deadline, according to sources familiar with the situation. The Cubs instead will be looking to add relief help after winning eight games in a row heading into Sunday's contest against the St. Louis Cardinals. Chicago is now 3.5 games behind the first-place Milwaukee Brewers in the National League Central and just three games out of the final wild card spot. The 28-year-old Bellinger is having a resurgent season with a .315/.368/.540 slash line. Since the All-Star break, he has a 1.140 OPS and has been playing great defense in center field and first base. Fantasy managers need to keep riding the hot hand.
