Cristopher Sanchez Strikes Out Nine in Tough-Luck Loss
Cristopher Sanchez pitched well but got handed the loss in a 2-1 defeat to Paul Skenes and the Pirates on Sunday. He allowed two runs on six hits and two walks while striking out nine over seven innings. The 28-year-old has been rock solid all season long, as he's allowed more than three runs in a start only one time. This was his seventh quality start in 13 tries, and he now has a 3.10 ERA and 1.29 WHIP on the season. The lefty will look to keep things rolling in his next start, currently set to be against the Blue Jays.
