Chicago Cubs relief pitcher Craig Kimbrel will throw another session of live batting practice on Saturday, and he could be ready to join Triple-A Iowa after that. Kimbrel may need around five minor league outings, including a back-to-back set, before he's ready to make his team debut with the Cubs near the end of this month. The hard-throwing right-hander needs some time to work back into shape after lingering on the free-agent market into the season. Kimbrel has a career 1.91 ERA, 0.92 WHIP, 333 saves and an elite 14.7 K/9. He'll be Chicago's go-to ninth-inning guy when he's ready, which will push current closer Pedro Strop into a setup role.--Keith Hernandez
