Corey Kispert Out 4-6 Weeks With Ankle Sprain
2 years agoWashington Wizards guard Corey Kispert (ankle) is expected to miss four to six weeks due to a sprained left ankle, according to the team. Kispert stepped on an opponent's foot during last Sunday's preseason game in Japan against the Golden State Warriors. With the regular season set to open on Oct. 19 at the Indiana Pacers, Kispert will miss at least the first few games. He was the 15th overall pick in the first round of the 2021 NBA draft, and he averaged 8.2 points in 77 games in his first NBA season for the Wizards. With Kispert unlikely to be ready for the start of his sophomore campaign, rookie first-rounder Johnny Davis will have an elevated role as a reserve to begin his first season.
