New York Jets wide receiver Corey Davis has decided to retire after recently being away from the team at training camp due to personal reasons. Davis' future with the Jets had been in question this offseason, but it's a bit surprising to see him hang up his cleats after just six seasons in the NFL. He was a former first-round pick (fifth overall) of the Tennessee Titans in 2017 out of Western Michigan. The 28-year-old spent his first three years in the league in Tennessee before playing for the Jets the last two years, where he caught 66 of 123 targets for 1,028 yards and six touchdowns in 22 games (19 starts). Davis will finish his career with 273 receptions for 3,879 yards and 17 touchdowns in 78 games (67 starts). With Davis out of the picture now in New York in 2023, Mecole Hardman Jr., Allen Lazard and Randall Cobb all have a path to more targets in the passing game behind No. 1 wideout Garrett Wilson.--Keith Hernandez
