Corbin Burnes Fans Seven In Quality Start, Win Tuesday
5 months agoBaltimore Orioles starting pitcher Corbin Burnes continued his excellent season in Tuesday's 6-2 win over the Blue Jays. Burnes pitched 6 2/3 innings, allowing two runs on four hits and three walks with seven strikeouts. He also uncharacteristically hit two batters. The 29-year-old has been pretty much everything the O's and fantasy managers had hoped for, going 11-4 with a 2.47 ERA, an 8.31 K/9 rate, and a 2.14 BB/9 rate in 22 starts and 138 2/3 IP. His strikeout rate has been lower than expected, but only four of his starts have not been quality starts, so he has compiled enough innings to help with his strikeout count. Burnes' next start will be a tough matchup at the Guardians, but fantasy managers should have him in their rotations at all times.
