The Washington Commanders are expected to hire highly regarded Dallas Cowboys defensive passing-game coordinator Joe Whitt Jr. as their new defensive coordinator, according to league sources. Dan Quinn, who served as the Cowboys' defensive coordinator the last three years, is bringing Whitt with him after being named the Commanders' next head coach on Thursday. Whitt joined the Cowboys defensive staff in 2021 and was also with Quinn in 2020 when Quinn was the Atlanta Falcons' head coach. He has been a coach in the NFL since 2007 and has held roles such as defensive backs coach, cornerbacks coach and passing-game coordinator. Given Quinn's extensive experience as a defensive coordinator, it's likely that he will call plays for Washington's defense over Whitt in 2024.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBallerRead More News
