Colts In The Mix For Lamar Jackson?
2 years agoThe Indianapolis Colts reportedly aren't one of the teams that don't have any interest in negotiating with Baltimore Ravens franchise-tagged quarterback Lamar Jackson. Because he's on the non-exclusive franchise tag, he can negotiate a contract with other teams. The 26-year-old could be a good fit for the Colts, who haven't had a QB start back-to-back season openers since Andrew Luck in 2015-16. Indy hasn't ruled out having discussions with Jackson, who is reportedly looking for a fully guaranteed deal as his own agent. Team sources have expressed skepticism about the Colts actually pursuing Jackson. In order to land Jackson and sign him to a long-term deal, the Colts would have to do some salary cap maneuvering. They just signed Gardner Minshew last weekend, but Jackson would become the clear starter if the Colts were able to pry him away from Baltimore.
