The Indianapolis Colts are discussing a new contract with star linebacker Darius Leonard, but the timing could be interesting with San Francisco 49ers linebacker Fred Warner also up for a very rich new contract extension. Leonard is one of the best defensive players, regardless of position in the NFL, so it's no surprise that Indy is interested in keeping him around long term. Colts owner Jim Irsay is "very optimistic" that the team will eventually reach a contract extension with Leonard. The benchmark for the linebacker will be around $18 million per season. The 25-year-old has made the Pro Bowl twice and been named a first-team All-Pro twice in his three seasons in the NFL. Leonard had 132 tackles (86 solo), seven passes defensed, three forced fumbles, two fumble recoveries and three sacks in 14 starts last year. He will again be one of the first IDP players off the board in fantasy.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBallerRead More News
