Coleman Crow Has Tommy John Surgery
1 year agoNew York Mets pitching prospect Coleman Crow (elbow), the team's No. 29 prospect per MLB Pipeline, underwent Tommy John surgery and will be out until 2024. Crow was acquired from the Los Angeles Angels in June in the trade involving infielder Eduardo Escobar, but he hasn't pitched yet in a Mets affiliate's uniform. The 22-year-old right-hander could end up missing the entire 2024 season, too. He had made just four starts for Double-A Rocket City this year before getting hurt, allowing only five earned runs on nine hits while walking six and striking out 31 in 24 innings. Crow's arsenal isn't overly impressive or overpowering and he's only 6-foot, 175 pounds, but he gets plenty of ground balls and uses his offspeed pitches nicely to set hitters up.
