Clyde Edwards-Helaire Stuck In Committee Backfield?
2 years agoThe Kansas City Chiefs still don't seem comfortable using running back Clyde Edwards-Helaire in most third-down situations, and until they do, the Chiefs backfield is likely to remain a committee involving Edwards-Helaire, Jerick McKinnon and rookie Isiah Pacheco. However, CEH does have three touchdowns in the first three games, and while that pace is not sustainable, he seems to be the team's preferred option near the goal line. The 23-year-old has mostly disappointed since the Chiefs made him a first-round pick in 2020, but he is averaging a career-high 5.3 yards per carry on 22 rushes through three games to go along with the three scores. A Week 4 matchup against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers' tough run defense won't be easy, but Edwards-Helaire remains the most attractive fantasy back in KC as things stand now.
