Clint Frazier's Status Too Uncertain In 2018
7 years agoOutfield prospect Clint Frazier made his professional debut for the New York Yankees this past season, Arriving in July after Aaron Hicks went out with an injury, the 23-year-old hit .270 that month, with four home runs, 17 RBI, four walks and even a stolen base. One major problem for Frazier at the plate was strikeouts, as he punched out an alarming 43 times in 39 games. Looking ahead at the 2018 season, Frazier’s status is very much in the air. With the Yankees stacked in the outfield, he won’t be seeing any starting time, and may even start the season in the minor leagues. Additionally, he could even be traded as the Yankees seek an arm for their rotation. As a result, he simply doesn’t seem to be a wise choice in any draft. Injuries would need to occur for Frazier to have a shot at significant playing time.
