Clint Frazier Will Start In 2021
Clint Frazier was named the team's starting left fielder by manager Aaron Boone on Wednesday. That announcement should come as no surprise after Frazier posted a .905 OPS in 39 games last season, but the 26-year-old's playing time has been unusually inconsistent so far in his MLB career and it's encouraging to see the Yankees commit to his role as a starter. Although fantasy managers should expect Frazier's performance to take a step back in 2021 after his wOBA outperformed his xwOBA by 34 points in 2020, the outfielder's patient plate approach (17.8% o-swing rate in 2020) and strong contact quality (.413 xwOBAcon in 2020) make him likely to post an OPS comfortably above .800 once again this season.
