Clayton Kershaw Plays Catch Monday
3 years agoLos Angeles Dodgers starting pitcher Clayton Kershaw (forearm) started his throwing program by playing catch on the field on Monday. Kershaw was placed on the injured list on July 7 with left forearm inflammation, and the Dodgers have been extremely cautious with his recovery in the early going. While the injury doesn't seem very serious in its own right, the team is using this time to let the future Hall of Fame left-hander rest up for the stretch run. Fantasy managers must remain patient, but barring any setbacks, it seems likely that he'll return to LA's rotation at some point next month. The 33-year-old remains one of the safer fantasy plays with his 3.39 ERA, 0.97 WHIP and 127 strikeouts in 106 1/3 innings spanning 18 starts in 2021.
