Clayton Kershaw Goes Four Innings In Rehab Start

Los Angeles Dodgers starting pitcher Clayton Kershaw (pelvis) threw 59 pitches over four innings in his minor league rehab start on Sunday for Low-A Rancho Cucamonga, striking out seven and allowing one run on a solo home run. Kershaw has been out for three weeks with inflammation in his right SI joint, but manager Dave Roberts is "hopeful" that Kershaw won't need a second rehab start after his outing on Sunday. The earliest he could return to the Dodgers starting rotation would be this Sunday against the division-rival San Francisco Giants. In five starts for LA before his injury, the veteran left-hander had a sparkling 1.80 ERA and 2.56 xERA with 32 strikeouts and only three walks in 30 innings.
