Clay Buchholz Could Join Rotation In April
Toronto Blue Jays starting pitcher Clay Buchholz (elbow) will throw 60 pitches on Tuesday and then 75 in his next outing, which might come at Triple-A Buffalo. There's a chance that the veteran right-hander will join the starting rotation against the Rays in mid-April. The 34-year-old was a nice surprise for Arizona's rotation in 2018, going 7-2 with a 2.01 ERA, 1.04 WHIP and 81 K's in 98 1/3 innings (16 starts) before his elbow gave out. He's unlikely to be that good again, especially in the tough American League East and hitter-friendly home park, but Buchholz can be a matchup play in DFS and AL-only setups.
