CJ Abrams Slugs Three-Run Home Run
4 years agoSan Diego Padres shortstop prospect CJ Abrams, known more for his plus speed, flexed his muscle on Friday with a three-run home run. Just 20 year old, the Padres middle infielder is holding his own this spring and he's getting a lot of playing time. Through 10 games, he's 5-for-21 (.238) with a triple, homer and three stolen bases. Abrams was originally selected sixth overall by the Padres in the 2019 amateur draft. He had an outstanding pro debut that same year but played mostly in rookie ball. He then spent 2020 at the Padres alternate training site. Abrams is ranked by RotoBaller as the fourth-best dynasty shortstop prospect in baseball but is likely one to two years away from the majors.
