Christopher Bell started off the 2024 season in style by finishing third in Monday's Daytona 500. After earning the fourth starting position in Thursday night's Duels, Bell was able to work his way to the front of the pack in just nine laps, a position he held onto until lap 30. His 22 lead laps were the second-highest of the race, trailing only pole-sitter Joey Logano, who led a total of 45 laps in the contest. Despite a strong early showing, after losing the lead, the 29-year-old had a rather quiet afternoon until a major accident with eight laps to go allowed him to jump from P15 to P6. Upon the restart, the JGR star dropped back slightly until a second significant wreck provided him an opening to move up to third place just before the race-ending caution flag was waved. Considering where he was on the track in relation to both major accidents, a top-three finish has got to be considered a positive for the No. 20 team, as several other drivers were not nearly as lucky.--Adam Erhardt - RotoBaller
