Christian Yelich Homers Thursday

Milwaukee Brewers outfielder Christian Yelich homered in a losing effort on Thursday as his club fell 5-4 to the Mets. He clubbed a solo shot off Tylor Megill in the fourth inning for his only hit of the game as he finished the contest going 1-for-5 with three strikeouts. Yelich has gotten some run out of the leadoff spot for the Brew Crew by hitting atop the lineup in each of his last eight games and getting a hit in all of those contests as well. The 30-year-old is still hitting a modest .242/.325/.386 with seven homers, 39 runs, 23 RBI, and nine steals, but with Kolten Wong returning from the IL this weekend, we'll see if Yelich can hold him off from the top of the lineup card.
